History

The use of lavender dates back around 2,500 years, when it was used in perfume making and mummification by Egyptians. Lavender was also used in Roman culture in cooking and bathing. The herb is also mentioned multiple times in the Bible under the name
"spikenard". Lavender was introduced to England in the 1600s.
