Individuals at this level will want to ensure that they are regularly warming up, stretching, and cooling down properly. In addition, it is
important to ensure that you are regularly

Individuals that are regularly performing an intermediate walking routine will want to learn to “listen to their body” as their are stresses that will be placed on the various joints, structural frame, and soft tissue.

Below are several tips that are intended to assist you as you progress through your intermediate walking routine:

in conjunction with the warm up and stretching routine.

Intermediate Marathon Training Routine

A 20 week walking program leading up to a marathon. For individuals who have been performing a walking routine for a minimum of 6 to 12 months, consistently walk 5 days a week or more, can easily walk 6 to 8 miles once a week, and may have participated in previous walking marathons. This walking routine should be performed in conjunction with the warm up and stretching routine.
