Ingredients:
  • (1 lb.) uncooked lean ground beef
  • (1) medium garlic clove(s), minced
  • (1/4 tsp.) table salt
  • (1/8 tsp.) black pepper
  • (1/2) small red onion, cut into 4 thin slices
  • (1/2 tsp.) olive oil
  • (1/8 tsp.) dried oregano, crushed
  • (1/4 cup) low-fat shredded cheddar cheese
  • (4) reduced-calorie hamburger roll(s)
  • (1) small tomato(s), cut into 8 thin slices

Zesty Cheeseburgers

Grilled red onions add terrific flavor to this classic cheeseburger.

    Instructions

  1. 1Preheat outdoor grill or indoor grill pan to medium high heat.
  2. 2In a large bowl, combine beef, garlic, salt and pepper, then separate into four equal patties.
  3. 3Grill burgers 4 to 5 minutes on one side.
  4. 4Meanwhile, brush red onions with olive oil and grill for about 4 minutes. Add a dash of oregano, then flip and grill for another 3 minutes.
  5. 5Flip your burgers and cook for another 4 minutes. Place 1 Tbsp. of cheese on each patty,
    leave on grill until just melted.
  6. 6While your cheese is melting, toast
    buns* on grill.
  7. 7Place one burger patty on each bun, top with sliced tomatoes and grilled onions. Enjoy!
