spiced beef wild rice
  • (1/2 tsp.) garlic powder
  • (1/2 tsp.) dried thyme
  • (1/8 tsp.) cayenne pepper
  • (1 Tbsp.) canola oil
  • (1 lb.) beef top sirloin steak, cut into 3/4 in. cubes
  • (1/4 cup) celery, sliced
  • (1/4 cup) julienned green pepper
  • (2 1/4 cups) water
  • (6 oz. package) long grain and wild rice mix
  • (1 small) tomato, chopped
  • (2 Tbsp.) green onion, chopped



Spiced Beef w/Wild Rice

Cubed beef sirloin steak coated with pungent spices then cooked with veggies and long grain wild rice.

  1. 1Combine garlic powder, thyme and cayenne in a small bowl. Top beef evenly with spice mixture.
  2. 2Spray a large saucepan with cooking spray and place over medium-high heat. Add oil. When hot, add beef. Cook until browned, stirring occasionally. Add celery and green pepper, cook another 2 minutes.
  3. 3Add water and rice mix (w/seasonings), bring to a boil then simmer on medium 23-28 minutes. Add tomato and onion, stir and serve.
