Ingredients:
  • (1/2 cup) dried figs, quartered
  • (1/4 cup) Marsala or port
  • (2 tsp.) honey
  • (1/2 cup) part-skim ricotta
  • (1 tsp.) sugar
  • (1/8 tsp.) vanilla extract
  • (1 Tbsp.) slivered almonds, toasted

Dried figs simmered in a sweet wine reduction and served with creamy ricotta cheese and almonds.

  1. 1In a small saucepan, combine figs, Marsala and honey. Place over High heat. When boiling, reduce heat and simmer about 5 minutes, until thickened.
  2. 2In a small bowl, combine ricotta, sugar and vanilla. Serve with poached figs and almonds.
