  • (1 cup) old-fashioned rolled oats
  • (1/4 cup) slivered almonds
  • (1/4 cup) sunflower seeds
  • (1 Tbsp.) flaxseeds, preferably golden
  • (1 Tbsp.) sesame seeds
  • (1 cup) unsweetened whole-grain puffed cereal
  • (1/3 cup) currants
  • (1/3 cup) dried apricots, chopped
  • (1/3 cup) golden raisins, chopped
  • (1/4 cup) creamy almond butter
  • (1/4 cup) turbinado sugar
  • (1/4 cup) honey
  • (1/2 tsp.) vanilla extract
  • (1/8 tsp.) salt



Homemade Oatmeal Cereal Bars

Old-fashioned oats with nuts, seeds and dried fruit coated with creamy almond butter and sweet honey.

  1. 1Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray an 8×8 in. pan with cooking spray. Toss oats, almonds, sunflower seeds, flaxseeds and sesame seeds together on a large baking sheet.
  2. 2Bake 10 minutes, tossing halfway through. Pour into a large bowl, combine with cereal, currants, apricots and raisins.
  3. 3Meanwhile, place a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add almond butter, sugar, honey, vanilla and salt, cook 2-5 minutes, stirring often. Pour over oat mixture and toss to coat. Pour into greased pan.
  4. 4Spray you hands with cooking spray and press mixture into an even layer. Refrigerate 30 minutes, cut into bars.
