Ingredients:
  • (2 large) eggs, beaten
  • (8 oz.) tempeh, crumbled
  • (1/2 cup) grape tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 cup) finely crumbled soft whole-grain bread crumbs
  • (1/4 cup) sweet onion, minced
  • (1 Tbsp.) olive oil
  • (6) whole-grain burger buns
  • (1 clove) garlic, halved
  • (2 tsp.) mayonnaise
  • Lettuce and tomato

Garlic Tempeh Burgers

Crumbled tempeh patties grilled and served on toasted, garlic-rubbed buns with mayo, lettuce and tomato.

    Instructions

  1. 1Mix together eggs, tempeh, tomatoes, bread crumbs and onion in a large bowl. Shape into 6 even patties.
  2. 2Place a large skillet over medium heat. Add oil. When hot, add burgers and cook 6 minutes, turning once.
  3. 3Place buns in toaster. As soon as they come out, rub the insides with the garlic halves, then top with mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato.
  4. 4Place burgers on the buns and serve.
