  • (1/4 cup) sugar
  • (1/4 cup) unsweetened cocoa
  • (2 1/2 Tbsp.) cornstarch
  • (1/4 tsp.) salt
  • (2 large) eggs
  • (2 cups) 2% reduced-fat milk
  • (1/4 cup) Frangelico (hazelnut-flavored liqueur)
  • (1/2 tsp.) vanilla extract
  • (3 oz.) bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • (2 cups) frozen fat-free whipped topping, thawed
  • (2 Tbsp.) hazelnuts, toasted and chopped



Frangelico Mousse

A fluffy chocolate-hazelnut mousse served with toasted hazelnuts on top.

  1. 1In a medium bowl, whisk together sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, salt, and eggs, set aside. Place a small saucepan over medium-high heat.
  2. 2Add milk and cook until you see small bubbles around the edge. Add to sugar mixture while whisking, then pour back into the saucepan and cook over medium heat 5 minutes,
    stirring often.
  3. 3Pour into a bowl, add liqueur, vanilla and chocolate and stir to melt. Fill a large bowl with ice and set bowl with chocolate in it on top of the ice for 15 minutes to chill, stirring every few
  4. 4Add 1/3 whipped topping, when combined add the rest and gently fold to combine. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours. Top each serving with 1 tsp. hazelnuts.
