  • (1/2 cup) butter or margarine, softened
  • (4 oz.) cream cheese, softened
  • (1 1/4 cups) all-purpose flour
  • (1/4 tsp.) salt
  • (1/3 cup) sugar
  • (1 tsp.) ground cinnamon



Cinnamon Sugar Spiral Cookies

Buttery cookies with cinnamon sugar spirals.

  1. 1In a large bowl, use an electric mixer on medium to beat together butter and cream cheese. Continue to beat on low while adding flour and salt, beat until combined.
  2. 2Lay out a piece of plastic wrap on a flat surface. Form dough into a rectangle, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate 1 hour. Mix together sugar and cinnamon in a small
    bowl, set aside.
  3. 3Lightly flour a flat surface and roll out chilled dough into a 12×15 in. rectangle. Top evenly with cinnamon sugar. Roll up dough tightly from the long side.
  4. 4Fill a small bowl with water and use a pastry brush to to brush the edge of the dough. Seal the edge, cut in half crosswise and place on a cookie sheet. Cover and refrigerate another 2
  5. 5Preheat oven to 400°F. Cut logs into 1/4 in. slices and place on baking sheet 1/2 in. apart. Bake 12-14 minutes. Cool on wire racks and serve.
