  • (1/4 cup) fat-free evaporated milk
  • (3 oz.) bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • (1 1/2 Tbsp.) butter, softened
  • (8 slices) thin whole-wheat sandwich bread
  • (3 Tbsp.) bittersweet or semisweet chocolate chips
  • (2 Tbsp.) chopped toasted hazelnuts (optional)



Chocolate Hazelnut Panini

A sweet grilled sandwich filled with melted chocolate, chocolate chips and toasted hazelnuts.

  1. 1Place a small saucepan over medium heat. Add evaporated milk, heat until boiling. As soon as it begins to boil, remove from heat and add chocolate. Whisk until combined.
  2. 2Place a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Place 8 bread slices on work surface.
  3. 3Spread butter on each slice, then flip 4 of them over. Spread chocolate on those slices, top with chocolate chips and nuts. Cover with buttered bread slices, butter side up.
  4. 4Cook 2 minutes, flip. Press with spatula and cook another minute. Slice in half and enjoy!
